The capital witnessed rapid rise in street crimes last week as 32 criminals cases were reported at different police stations of Islamabad, which included cases of robbery, car theft, murder and fake cheques. According to the data gathered by Business Recorder, during the last week eight cases of robbery, six cases of car lifting, two cases of murder, two cases of dead bodies' recovery and 14 cases of fake cheques were registered in various police stations of the city.

The Margalla Police Station registered two cases of car theft, one case of robbery and two cases of fake cheques last week. The Kohsar Police station registered one case of car jacking, two cases of robbery and four cases of fake cheques last week. Similarly, Industrial Area Police Station registered last week one case each of car lifting, robbery and fake cheque. Lohi Beer Police Station registered two cases of robbery during the same period. The Koral Police Station registered two cases of robbery. A dead body was recovered and a case of fake cheque was reported to Sabzi Mandi Police Station. Ternol Police Station registered two cases of murder and a case of fake cheque. An unknown dead body was recovered within the limits of Ternol Police Station during the last week.

The BaraKahu Police Station registered three cases of fake cheques last week. Women and Koral Police Station registered one case each of fake cheque last week. Similarly, Shehzad Town and Nilore Police Stations registered one case each of car lifting during the last week.

A senior official of police said that theft of the six cars, looting of eight houses, murder of two persons and recovery of two dead bodies in just seven days belies the claims of Capital Police that they have made strict security arrangements in the metropolis. Similarly, it shows that criminals are doing their business fearlessly.
